Siri Garfinkel, MFR therapist

It’s possible to feel good in your body again and be back to living

Hi, I’m Siri Garfinkel. I’m a trained Myofascial Release (MFR) therapist and I have a passion for helping people heal from pain and reclaim their health and vitality.

I know what it’s like to struggle with debilitating pain and find little relief from conventional medicine and therapy.

When I was pregnant with my first child, the changes in my body triggered intense hip pain related to an old injury that hadn’t bothered me in years. I got some relief from Pelvic Floor PT but had a very challenging birth experience with my son coming out lips first and my pelvic floor significantly damaged. When I became pregnant again 14 months later, traditional PT had not returned me back to baseline and I found MFR to address my symptoms and prepare for giving birth again. MFR resolved my hip pain and greatly improved my pelvic floor during pregnancy.  My daughter’s birth was 3 hours of joy, 10 minutes of intensity, one fetal ejection reflex and straight to my chest she flew. I was able to fully resolve my pelvic floor issues and hip pain through MFR treatment and learning to treat myself during my postpartum recovery.

That is why I was inspired to train as an MFR therapist  and leave my traditional inpatient Occupational Therapist job to support individuals to  resolve pain and restore function. I am grateful to have MFR to help you  in an empowering way that meets your unique needs and goals and develops your capacity to heal yourself .

“My understanding of my body and fascia has made it easier to continue my healing on my own.”

“I have come to MFR for hip pain and pelvic floor instability. I had tried stretching,  yoga, massage and PT prior to trying MFR. Since receiving MFR treatment, squats and deadlifts feel better. I have better continence with stress (sneezing, laughing, jumping). I also feel I have more tools to “treat myself” when something new comes up. My understanding of my body and fascia has made it easier to continue my healing on my own.

Before I tried it, I thought MFR might hurt but it didn’t and I found it very relaxing. I was surprised at how much emotional processing and release I got from a body-based treatment.”

“I am very pleased with my progress and would not be this far along without the sessions”

“I sought out myofascial release therapy with Siri after I sustained an up-slipped right pelvis and torsion with my sacrum that was preventing me from walking without a walker and causing pain. After finding Siri and starting MFR, in a relatively short time, I was able to begin climbing stairs again, walk without the walker, stretch and perform some yoga movements with no pain.

I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my body responded to the treatment. Siri is very gifted and able to intuitively know what might work best for you in the moment.  I am very pleased with my progress and would not be this far along without the sessions!"
